“Underneath All That”

She’s still Teyla underneath all that. –Human John talking about human Teyla disguised as a Wraith Queen.

Too bad the full significance of this line went over the heads of the Lanteans.

No matter what body we find ourselves in or under which galaxy we were born, we are made of stardust and we are all who we are underneath our transient mortal coverings of flesh and blood.

Various parts of the body renew themselves every few days, weeks, or years and our forms change as they age from baby, to toddler, to adolescent, to adult, to senior citizen.

Yet, we are still us “underneath all that.”
